How to: Change the Region Settings for Windows Phone Emulator

You should test your phone application using different region settings, particularly if the application provides different information depending on the locale of the device running the application. You can test your application with different language settings and locales using the Windows Phone Emulator.

To change the region setting

1. Start the emulator by specifying the Windows Phone Emulator as the target device in Visual Studio and starting an application. For more information on how to do this, see How to: Start an Application in Windows Phone Emulator
2. In the emulator, click the Start button to return to the Start screen.
3. Click the arrow to navigate to the page that contains the application list.
4. In the application list, select Settings.
5. From the system menu, select region+language.
6. In the Display language list, select the desired language.
7. Click Tap here to accept changes and restart your phone to accept the language change and restart the emulator.
   When the emulator is restarted, the display language is set to the selected language. If you close and restart the emulator, the region and language settings are set back to their default values.
